Planned for 150 people, we welcomed 420 - and uncovered an urgent need for wheelchairs and therapy.
What happened, and why it mattered
Turnout far exceeded expectations as families arrived for Christmas hampers and clothing. A medical component and needs assessment revealed real demand for wheelchairs, assistive devices and therapy services.
In a second phase, and in partnership with Special Children's Trust, Mukisa Foundation and Berakhah Medical Centre, more families received disability assessments, laboratory services and treatment.
