What We Do

A holistic approach to family support

When we support the mother and strengthen the family, every child has the foundation to thrive. Our work moves from the home outward, through interconnected pillars of practical and compassionate support.

The Raphatale approach
01 The Raphatale Approach

Supporting the mother strengthens the whole family

Raphatale Foundation works through a holistic, family-centred approach. We recognise that supporting a child with special needs and disabilities begins with supporting the mother and strengthening the family unit.

Our work is guided by interconnected pillars that together form a practical and compassionate support system - meeting families where they are and walking with them through every step of their journey.

02 Our Pillars

How we walk with families

Five connected pillars that together strengthen mothers, children and communities.

01

Health

We provide guidance, referrals and connections to trusted professionals offering diagnostic services, therapy, medical care and specialised support, helping families access credible information and the right care pathways for their children.

02

Work and Economic Empowerment

Many mothers leave or reduce work to provide care. We advocate for flexible, inclusive employment and explore pathways for income generation, skills development and financial resilience that restore confidence and dignity.

03

Support and Community

We create safe spaces where mothers can speak openly, share experiences and receive encouragement without judgement, reducing isolation and building strong networks of mutual support.

04

Inclusion and Awareness

Stigma thrives in silence and misinformation. Through storytelling, community engagement and partnerships, we promote understanding and create environments where children and families are welcomed and respected.

05

Home and Family Strengthening

The home is where caregiving happens. We strengthen families with practical essentials, emotional support and encouragement that nurture dignity, acceptance and confidence within the family unit.

Safe, welcoming gatherings where parents speak openly, share knowledge, build friendships and find reflection, emotional support and practical guidance on caregiving.

03

Referrals and Information Support

Guiding families toward credible organisations and professionals for diagnosis, therapy and specialised support, helping caregivers navigate complex systems with clarity.

Help us strengthen more families

Every pillar of our work depends on people who choose to stand with mothers and families. Partner, give or collaborate to help no family walk this journey alone.
